Lord, your word is clear in Psalm 122:6, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and those who do will prosper.”
God, we see hostages being taken — little boys, infant girls, mothers, daughters, and the elderly, for one purpose: to be used as a form of barter.
We’ve seen the borders of Israel breached in a surprise attack for the express purpose of killing Jewish people. We’ve seen over 4,000 rockets descend upon innocent people for the purpose of sending an evil message.
Lord, I pray not only for the peace of Jerusalem and Israel, but I also pray for the response of Israel.
I pray, Lord, for the reality of Psalm 91, that because we dwell in the secret place of the most high God, we have your protection, to manifest around Israel, their soldiers, and their leadership.
I pray, according to Proverbs 3:5-6, that we should lean not on our own understanding, but in all of our ways acknowledge you, and you shall direct our paths. I can’t think of a more important time to pray for that kind of clarity in the heart and mind of Prime Minister Netanyahu.
Lord, I pray that your will be done.
I pray that you will strengthen the core of the Israeli state so that their response will be so overwhelming that Hamas and the enemies of your chosen people will never do this again.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Amen!
Amen. May it be so.
